“Unsalted Island Hop” – June 21-27 2014. As always, we can’t confirm an itinerary until just days before the event, and then we will change it a few more times! We can guarantee a great sail and an unforgettable experience. We will explore the islands of Northern Lake Michigan and see some anchorages and harbors that a lot of Great Lakes cruisers only hear about. This was a very popular event last year. We will be offering the ASA 104 and 106 certifications on this event this year.
4th Annual “Unsalted Sailing Flotilla” – August 16-22 2014. All skill levels welcome! We will harbor hop around the Grand Traverse and Little Traverse Bays. Some of our favorite ports of call are Elk Rapids, Suttons Bay, Charlevoix, Beaver Island, Harbor Springs, Northport and Bowers Harbor. We will have great events in each port like wine tasting, beer tasting, nature hikes, shoreside cruising demonstrations and our very own Twisted Sheet Regatta. We will be offering ASA 101, 103, 104 and 114 courses for this Unsalted favorite! Book your boat now or call and register your own boat!

What is Flotilla Sailing?
Flotilla Sailing offers a safe and fun way for people to get to known a new cruising area. A lead boat guides the fleet to the best anchorages and harbor towns. This “follow-the-leader” style of sailing makes for a very relaxing vacation knowing that your flotilla neighbors are nearby. A Reception Cook Out in the marina will start things off the evening before we sail. We’ll review the charts of the area, discuss the weather and the planned itinerary, and before departure, a Great Lakes Sailing Captain will familiarize you with your vessel in regards to operation and location of gear. There are several planned events along the way and you’ll enjoy the camaraderie with fellow sailors. You’ll also have ample time to branch off and explore the towns and islands on your own.
